Wonderful read. As a father of 2 boys I’ve always made a concerted effort to avoid using the word “lazy” - it’s a label that is born through the systemic cult of productivity. It connotes a sense of invisible inadequacy based on narrow minded definitions of success.
Absolutely agreed! It is our job to set people, especially the little humans in our charge, up for true success by getting to the bottom of the “why.” Hand-waving behaviors away as “lazy” might temporarily relieve us of the burden, but it’s a disservice to those who depend on us.
